Norma Klassens Scotch Shortbread cookies

I grew up looking forward to my Mom making these every Christmas. They are pure magic.
Norma Klassen was a lady who lived down the road from us, and while she is long departed I still refer to this recipe as hers.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 300 for 20-22 minutes

Cream: 1 cup butter
1 cup Crisco shortening
Add and beat: 1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
5 cups pastry flour
Press through cookie press
Bake until they move when pushed with a finger
Cool on brown paper bags. ( or some other kind of paper that will absorb a little of the grease and keep them from getting soggy)
